Zootopia Review ~ Opens March 4th!

Today marks the day that Disney’s Zootopia hits theatres nationwide and I can’t be happier. My family and I saw an advance screening of Zootopia and it was a hit for my whole family. While there are a lot of kid movie out there, it’s rare that my hubby and I can enjoy the movie just as much as they do. With Zootopia, Disney has hit it out of the park!

This movie is a radical departure from many of the recent Disney movies as there are no princesses, no love story, and isn’t a musical. I personally think that the storytelling and animation in this one are a notch above, which sets it apart from the other kid movies out there.

So what’s this fabulous movie about? Read on, don’t worry, I won’t spoil the ending. Judy Hopps is a bunny who has big dreams of becoming a cop in Zootopia. Traditionally, this role is given to larger animals that are predators. A bunny? Noone didn’t think she could do it. Hops puts her mind to it and gets on the force but being on the small side is given a job she doesn’t really like, parking ticket cop. However, within the first 48 hours on the job she finds herself caught up in a mystery that must be solved within 48 hours, or she’ll be fired.

You’ll find yourself laughing throughout this whole film! What I loved most is that while the movie is silly and goofy it still teaches a valuable lesson that doesn’t come across preachy or boring.
