Walgreens: New Balance Rewards Program

Update:  Walgreens recently made a small change to their Balance Rewards Program.  When purchasing items that offer BR points you can only do one (one the same transaction) at a time.  This means if you are purchasing a razor that is offering Balance points you can only purchase one at a time to ensure that you will receive points on BOTH orders.

A few weeks ago Walgreens rolled out their new Balance Rewards program.   This program allows shoppers to use  a savings card to not only get sale prices but to also earn points when you buy specific products.  At this time, the Register Reward program that has been in place for years at Walgreens will still continue.  If Balance Rewards is new to you, here are a few things that you need to know.

How do you get a card?  You can enroll in-store, online or via Walgreens mobile app.  Yep, that’s right Walgreens has a mobile app!  I registered in-store last week and it only took a few minutes.  Everything was done on the register with no paperwork to fill out.  One nice perk is that you don’t have to have your card with you to get the savings; they can simply look up your Balance Rewards account with your phone number.   I love that I will be able to grab some savings without having to actually carry another store card.

How do you earn points?  Balance Rewards members will earn points when they purchase specified items in store or online.  You can find these items throughout each weekly ad.  You can even earn points on prescriptions and by usuing their “Walk with Walgreens”  Program.  You can see the points you earn at the bottom of your receipt or on your online account.

What can you do with your points?  Here’s where it gets good.  Points equal reward money.  You’ll be able to grab your first reward for once you reach 5,000 points.  While that may seem like a lot, it really isn’t since most offers start at 1,000.  Here is how the points stack up.

Can you use coupons on the Balance Rewards deals?  Yes you can.  Using manufacturer’s coupons or Walgreens coupons on Balance Reward items will still allow you to earn points.  In fact, you can even use a Register Reward to pay for a Balance Rewards item.  You can also use your Balance Rewards points on Register Reward items.  Just like Register Rewards, Balance rewards do not roll.  This means you cannot pay with Balance Rewards and earn more points.

Do points expire?
If you are an active member, all points will expire on a rolling 36 month basis.  If you do not earn or redeem points for six consecutive months, your membership will be considered inactive and all points will expire.

What are you thinking about Walgreens new program?

#ad Am I the only one who still gets excited to fi #ad Am I the only one who still gets excited to find the perfect card? 💌 In a world where most messages arrive with a quick text or emoji, there's something extra special about opening a handwritten card. Whether it's celebrating a birthday, congratulating a graduate, cheering on a friend, or simply letting someone know you're thinking of them, those little notes can mean so much.   That's why I'm stocking up during the @hallmark Semi-Annual Sale! Now through July 5, buy one, get one 50% off greeting cards at Hallmark Gold Crown stores, Hallmark.com, and the Hallmark Cards Now app.   I love keeping a card stash at home so I'm always ready for life's big celebrations and those unexpected moments when someone could use a little encouragement. ❤️   Shop the sale in my bio!!
Would you dare give someone a thrifted gift? 👀 👇👇 Would you dare give someone a thrifted gift? 👀 👇👇👇 Hear me out... I needed a housewarming gift for a friend who just moved into a new home, so I headed to @voathrift, instead of a big box store. I walked out with a basket full of adorable finds! 🏡🛍️ The best part? Several of the items were brand new! From cute home décor to kitchen goodies, I found thoughtful gifts for a fraction of what I would have spent buying everything new. I truly think it's less about where a gift comes from and more about the thought behind it. 💙 So tell me... would you thrift a gift for someone? Or have you already? I'd love to hear your thoughts! 😊 #ThriftFinds #VolunteersOfAmerica #ThriftStore #HousewarmingGift #SecondhandStyle
#ad Lately, I've been reaching for greeting cards #ad Lately, I've been reaching for greeting cards more than usual.   Maybe it's because one of my kids just graduated high school. Maybe it's because summer seems to bring so many reasons to celebrate, encourage, and stay connected with the people who matter most.   A card can say "I'm proud of you," "I'm thinking about you," or "I'm grateful for our friendship" in a way that a quick text just can't. That's why I love keeping a variety of cards on hand for both the big milestones and the everyday moments.   If you're like me, now is a great time to stock up. Through July 5, @Hallmark is offering Buy One, Get One 50% Off greeting cards at @HallmarkStores and Hallmark.com. 🦸‍♀️ Last night was SUPER fun at the advance scree 🦸‍♀️ Last night was SUPER fun at the advance screening of @supergirl! I brought my boys along for the movie, and one of my favorite parts of the night was running into so many of my readers who won tickets through my giveaway. 💙 There was even a prize wheel where movie fans scored fun goodies like Supergirl backpacks and t-shirts! @dcofficial @warnerbros 🎬 Our Review:
We loved SUPERGIRL! It was packed with action, heart, humor, and plenty of superhero moments that kept us entertained the entire time. Kara is a relatable hero who is still figuring out where she belongs. The movie does a great job balancing exciting action scenes with meaningful friendships and family connections, making it a fun watch for both kids and adults. 🍿 SUPERGIRL FLIES into theaters June 26! If you're looking for a fun summer blockbuster with lots of heart, this one is definitely worth seeing. #Supergirl #PhoenixTheatres #MovieNight #DCStudios #SummerMovies
