Summit Mall, Fairlawn, OhioHey locals! Mark your calendar for a yummy event that helps support The Susan G. Komen 3-Day event! Once again, The Rail Restaurant will partner with Kathy & Lee Giller of Akron to raise money for The Susan G. Komen 3-Day. Over the past ten years their team, “Breast Man Walking” has raised more than $400,000 to help find a cure for breast cancer. 75% of the money raised from these walks is used strictly for research purposes. The remainder of the money stays with local community programs that support education, screening and treatment. Since 2012 The Rail has helped raise over $50,000.

The 3-Day is deeply personal for the Giller family.  Lee is battling Stage IV breast cancer and their young daughter faced her own diagnosis at the age of 28.  For the past 10 years, the Giller’s have walked in 19 of these events and have raised close to a half-million dollars to help find a cure.  They named their team “Breast Man Walking” as a means of raising awareness about the risks men also can face. This will be their last event though they will remain committed to doing their part to fight this disease.

Where: The Rail Burger-Bar located at The Summit Mall ~ 3265 West Market Street, Akron, OH 44333
Tickets: ($75 per guest) will be available by mail in or by calling The Rail.
Who: Tickets will be available for anyone wishing to help fund the 3-day and support the important work that the Susan G. Komen foundation does to fight breast cancer.

Advance reservations and sponsorship opportunities for this private event can be made by contacting The Rail at 330-864-RAIL (7245).  Ticket prices are $75/person ($55 tax deductible). Your ticket includes local burger sliders, beer samples, shakes, snacks, live music ($55 is tax deductible). Tickets can be purchased by mail, or at The Rail. A raffle and silent auction will also help kick off the fun!
