I heard of Slide the City this spring and while it was still snowing here in Ohio, I was jumping with glee!

Slide the City, is bringing its humongous, two-lane water slide to northeast Ohio this summer.  Best of all you’ll have three major cities to pick from including Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown. Who wouldn’t want to zip through a 1,000-foot Slip-N-Slide that’s longer than three football fields? Sounds like a blast to me!

Slide the City travels around the country, and since it only stays in each location for one day, buying tickets in advance is recommended.

If you live in northeast Ohio you’ll be happy to see that Slide the city is coming to:

  • Youngstown on Saturday, June 27
  • Akron on Sunday, August 2
  • Cleveland TBA

Slide the City offers various ticket options. You can grab a single slider ticket, triple slider option or Unlimited Slider package. The Unlimited Slider option allows sliders to go as many times as they want during the day, and also allows them special access to the slide an hour before it opens and an hour after it closes along with other goodies.

Want to keep your kiddos active this summer?  Well let them bowl!  Kid’s can bowl free all summer long with the Kids Bowl Free Program. With this program,  select bowling alleys offer 2 free games every day of the summer!

Head over here to find out if you live near a participating bowling alley. Once you find one, sign up each child for the program. A coupon should be emailed to you each week to use.

FRUGAL TIP: Shoe rental is not included, so if you plan to take advantage of this more than a few times, I’d recommend purchasing bowling shoes for your children. You may be able to find a good deal on these at a local sporting goods consignment store. Or, you can purchase them on Amazon.com.

The Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse 2015 schedule was just release!  Starting June 9th, participating Cinemark theaters will start their Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse promotion!  This deal offers kids movies, rated G or PG, for as low as $.50 per ticket!

To snag this deal you can purchase in advance at the Box Office a bundle pack of 10 movies for only $5.  This makes each kids movie only $0.50 each!  If you’d rather purchase tickets as you go, you’ll pay just $1 per ticket at the box office!  These kids movies have already been released but my kids don’t mind at all.

If you are new to this, keep in mind that the ticket prices are for everyone in your party including adults. Sometimes these movies can be popular so be sure to get there early!

Have you heard of the Regal Summer Movie Express?

Each year Regal Cinemas (along with other theaters) offer $1 family friendly movies all summer long. The start date and time shown each week does vary by theater location but most start in May or June and are in the morning.

My family looks forward to this every year and we try to hit quite a few of them each week. It’s such a fun activity especially on those days that it’s just too hot to be outside. Because the theater can fill up fast, I strongly recommend getting there EARLY as they have sold out before.

The locations I checked will have the movies at 10am on Tuesday and Wednesday. You might just double check your location to be certain.
