Tony Sacco’s Coal Oven Pizza in Mentor, Ohio, celebrated their one year on Thursday, December 12^th. In honor of this milestone, Tony Sacco’s created “Sacco’s Philly Pizza” which will be offered throughout the month of January. The specialty pizza features Sacco’s thin crust dough topped with slices of sautéed beef, caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms and sweet peppers topped with a variety of specialty cheeses. In addition, Tony Sacco’s will donate $2 for every large “Sacco’s Philly Pizza” purchased to the Make-A-Wish® America.

Tony Sacco’s distinct taste comes from a custom-built coal oven that burns pure anthracite coal from Pennsylvania.  The internal temperatures reach over 1,000 degrees which crisps the outer crust while leaving a smoky chewy center.

The menu isn’t just pizzas, but features a variety of calzones, sandwiches, salads and appetizers including a variety of wings, sausage and peppers, and homemade hummus. Everything is handmade to order with the freshest and finest ingredients.  The restaurant houses no freezers, fryers or microwaves and uses a separate water filtration system which allows the dough to have the freshest flavor.

Tony Sacco’s of Mentor is located at Great Lakes Mall next to women’s Dillard’s.  Not in Ohio?  Tony Sacco’s has locations in Florida, Michigan, Illinois, North Carolina, and Indiana.
