Growing up in the late 80s I LOVED watching Double Dare. Each show had two teams competing to win prizes. They answered trivia questions and completed messy challenges. The team with the most points at the end of each show was able to run the legendary obstacle course. It was messy and so fun to watch!

On the heels of a summer revival TV show the Double Dare Live tour will be bringing all it’s insanity and mess to 15 cities across the country. One stop will be Cleveland on November 11th. This high energy show will hosted by the Double Dare legend himself Marc Summers and Robin Russo. Bring your whole family to the show you loved as a child. Last weekend, I took my crew and a few of their friends to see an advance screening of GOOSEBUMPS 2: Haunted Halloween. They all loved the first one and have been eagerly awaiting the second movie!

I have three boys ranging from 8 – 12 years old  and with my oldest being almost a teen, I’m starting to find it tricky to figure out which movies will be work for the whole family. I’m happy to report this one was. While it had a few spooky parts (or “jump scares” like my kids call them), it was had just as many laughs. I think this makes it the perfect family movie to jump start the Halloween festivities!

The second Goosebumps adaptation, isn’t directly related to 2015 Goosebumps movie but it brings many of Stein’s popular characters. This creates a lot of nostalgia for fans of the Goosebumps books and 1995 TV Show. I really liked that Director Ari Sandel target the (kinda) spooky parts to the younger audiences while aiming the comedy at both those young and older watchers.

The two main characters, Sonny (Jeremy Ray Taylor) and Sam (Caleel Harris), have a chemistry on-screen that feels like they have been friends their whole lives. Jack Black, who doesn’t show up until towards the end, still brings an equal amount of intrigue to the plot. My kids favorite part involved an attack of gummy bears that had us all laughing! Are you on the fence? I think  your family it going to love this FUN movie. Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween is truly family-friendly fun for all.

Synopsis:

While collecting junk one day, best friends Sonny and Sam meet Slappy, a mischievous talking dummy from an unpublished “Goosebumps” book by R.L. Stine. Hoping to start his own family, Slappy kidnaps Sonny’s mother and brings all of his ghoulish friends back to life — just in time for Halloween. As the sleepy town becomes overrun with monsters, witches and other mysterious creatures, Sonny joins forces with his sister, Sam and a kindly neighbor to save Sonny’s mom and foil Slappy’s plan.
