For their eighth fully animated feature, Illumination and Universal Pictures present The Grinch, based on Dr. Seuss’ beloved holiday classic. The Grinch tells the story of a cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit. Funny, heartwarming and visually stunning, it’s a universal story about the spirit of Christmas and the indomitable power of optimism.

 

Here’s your chance to attend the advance screening of DR. SEUSS’ THE GRINCH on Tuesday, November 6 at Cinemark Valley View. To enter, simply CLICK HERE and fill out the form.

Corteo, the latest Cirque du Soleil production, is coming to the Quicken Loans Arena, November 15 to 18, 2018 for a limited run of six performances. This unique production first premiered in Montreal in April 2005 and has since amazed 8 million people in 64 cities in 19 countries on four continents! This looks like a show the whole family would love!

CORTEO, which means cortege in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.

The clown pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by quietly caring angels. Juxtaposing the large with the small, the ridiculous with the tragic and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection, the show highlights the strength and fragility of the clown, as well as his wisdom and kindness, to illustrate the portion of humanity that is within each of us. The music turns lyrical and playful carrying CORTEO through a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality.

The concept and disposition of the stage bring the audience in a theatrical atmosphere like never seen before in Cirque du Soleil arena shows. The set curtains, inspired by the Eiffel Tower, and the central curtains, which were hand painted, give a grandiose feel to the stage. This sets the tone for the poetry of CORTEO.

The cast of CORTEO includes 51 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors from all around the world.

I LOVE everything about Cleveland! The history, the sports, the weather … well, maybe not that last one.

I’m in downtown Cleveland almost weekly attending events, meetings, or just exploring the city with my family. While I was born and raised in a suburb of Cleveland, I know that there are still many hidden gems that I’ve never visited. When my friend, Tonya Prater, co-author of the book 100 Things To Do In Cleveland Before You Die, 2nd Edition, sent me a copy of her NEW book, I couldn’t wait to see what was inside. After reading it, I discovered that she and her co-author, Deb Thomas spent a lot of time finding a treasure trove of places to see in and around the Cleveland area.

100 Things To Do In Cleveland Before You Die, 2nd Edition is the ultimate guide to finding the best things in the city and, for life-long residents, new ways to explore old favorites. It has information to help you find the best food, festivals, museums, outdoor activities, and more.

What I love most about this book is that it’s a easy read. The book is divided into 100 mini chapters highlighting a different place or event on every page. As a busy mom, who doesn’t get to dive into books as much as I would like, this is perfect for a few quick reading sessions.

Looking for unique places to visit in Cleveland? You’ll find it in here! Did you know where you can purchase a hot dog with chunky peanut butter on it? You’ll find it in the book! Want a list of the unique festivals that happen throughout the year? Yea, it’s in there too! I love that it offers so many places that Cleveland residents may not have tried out as well as highlighting the top places to visit for Cleveland visitors.

If you love to shop, be sure to read the fashion section. You’ll enjoy reading about all that Cleveland has to offer. Want to find places that the whole family will love? The sports and recreation is full of places to visit and what to see at each destination. Don’t skip the index which has suggested itineraries and activities by the season.
