**Keep up-to-date on all the deals and FIND me on Facebook!**

This giveaway is now closed.

“We’re off to see the Wizard!  The wonderful Wizard of Oz!”  Doesn’t that tune just make you want to link arms with someone and skip down the road?

Starting September 20th, and for one week only, The Wizard of Oz will be back in select IMAX theaters. To celebrate, I’ll be giving away 5, family 4-pack of passes to a special pre-screening of the movie in Westlake, Ohio.  Each person who wins, will receive a special code which will give you access to passes.  Each code will give you four passes which means that you can bring the family along.  What a fun, frugal family activity!

Please keep in mind that while the winners are guaranteed passes, you’ll need to arrive at least 45 minutes early to get a seat.  These screenings release more passes than there are seats to guarantee a full theater.  I always suggest grabbing a seat and then getting your snacks.

Wizard of Oz Screening Info:

What: Wizard of Oz
Date: Sunday, September 15th
Time: 10:30 AM
Where: Regal at Crocker Park.

To enter, simply leave a comment below
and tell me what you love most about this cherished film.  Five winners will be selected randomly on Monday, September 9th and will each win a family 4-pack of passes.  Good luck and see you at the movies!

THE WIZARD OF OZ 3D

Adapted from L. Frank Baum’s timeless children’s tale about a Kansas girl’s journey over the rainbow, The Wizard of Oz™ opened at Grauman’s Chinese Theater on August 15, 1939. The film was directed by Victor Fleming (who that same year directed Gone With the Wind), produced by Mervyn LeRoy, and scored by Herbert Stothart, with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. DOROTHY™ was portrayed by a 4’11” sixteen-year-old girl who quickly earned her reputation as “the world’s greatest entertainer”—the incomparable Judy Garland. Ray Bolger appeared as the SCARECROW™; Bert Lahr as the COWARDLY LION™, Jack Haley as the TIN MAN™. Frank Morgan was seen in six different roles, including that of the wonderful “Wizard of Oz™” himself.

The Wizard of Oz™ received five Academy Award® nominations[i], including Best Picture (Outstanding Production), and captured two Oscars®—Best Song (“Over the Rainbow”) and Best Original Score — plus a special award for Outstanding Juvenile Performance by Judy Garland. The film was an overwhelmingly popular and critical success upon its initial release and repeated its ability to captivate audiences when M-G-M reissued the film in 1949 and 1955. The film made a new kind of history with its network television premiere in 1956 on CBS. Nearly 45 million people tuned in for this initial telecast, marking the beginning of an annual tradition. Ever since, The Wizard of Oz™ has been shown virtually annually on network (and then cable) television; its magical story and heartfelt performances have enabled it to grow from a perennial classic to its current status as a treasured icon of popular culture.

Disclosure:  All opinions are my own.  In exchange for promoting the upcoming film, I was given tickets to attend the screening.

A couple of reasons that this movie is special. My great-grandmother, watched this movie with me and my siblings as we were growing up, and cherished Judy Garland. Second, my youngsest brother (Age 22), who is handicapped, took on her love of Judy Garland, and grew up with the love of this movie and memories of watching it with our great-grandmother. Third, my daughters, Age 7, have been watching this with me since they were about 3. I think if we won, I would take my brother and my daughters to go see this movie in the theatre. We are on our fifth generation of lovers of thsi movie…and they would love it!

This is one of the true classics…my parents watched, I watched it and now we enjoy it with my kids. We have gone to see Wicked and have had each of the girls wear a Dorothy costume for Halloween. We have had many copies that have been worn out from watching them. Now a chance to watch it on the big screen!!! How totally awesome that would be!!!

i was raised on this movie! My mother was born in ’57 and has always loved this movie and therefore passed it on to her kids. EVERY time it was on tv or in theaters for an exclusive engagement or a new special edition dvd came out (even though it was the same movie), we had to buy it and watch it over and over again, to the point where we know it by heart. my mother has an entire collection of the collector’s plates, figurines, christmas ornaments, etc and she’s just like a kid when she sees the movie. in March of this year, my 19year old step sister who has severe cerebral palsy, had to have spinal fusion surgery to straighten out her spine because her scoliosis was so bad it was crushing her lungs (and i’m not just making this up, i have photos i can share to proveit ) and during her 4 weeks at akron Children’s hospital in the PICU recovering, i decided to introduce her to one of my childhood favorites and bring her my copy of hte Wizard of Oz to watch. The minute it came on screen she was hooked – she can’t speak, but she’s expressive and can laugh along with the best of anyone, and the movie had her smiling, squealing and laughing over and over again, to the point where the nurses and i were playing the movie everyday for her. When i saw the movie was coming out in 3d (i’ve taken my sister to see several 3d movies now and she loves wearing the glasses and watching the movie pop out of the screen at her – she squeals and laughs eveytime!), i promised mom and Martia i’d take them both to see it, but i didn’t realize it was only in very few theaters and not really anywhere near Brunswick that i can find. My sister lives in a group home and is wheelchair bound and is on a medicine and tube feed schedule so i can’t take her too far from home for a whole day, but if i could win passes to take her and mom to see The Wizard of Oz in 3D, it would be such a great experience for the both of them.
Not sure if this link will work, but here’s a picture of my “monkey” . Please help me make her smile like this!

Oh my goodness, my sister and I had an absolute bl Oh my goodness, my sister and I had an absolute blast last night at @playhousesquare! 🎭 The @choirofmanusatour is here through Sunday, March 8th, and you do not want to miss it. Get there early because before the show even starts, you can actually go on stage, interact with the cast, grab a beer at the pub-style counter, and maybe even dance a jig or two. How fun is that?! Once the performance begins, get ready — this toe-tapping, high-energy production will have you moving in your seat from the very first number. You’ll recognize a lot of the songs, and you might even discover a new favorite. I absolutely loved the traditional folk song! And fair warning… this show is very interactive! Audience members can get pulled on stage — like my sister, who was serenaded by one of the cast members! Such a fun and unforgettable moment. If you’re looking for a fantastic night out, this is it. Great seats are still available — go grab yours! 🎶🍻 #choirofman #choirofmanUSAtour #broadwaycleveland #clevelandmom

🎺✨ Oh what a night! I caught the brand-new nationa 🎺✨ Oh what a night! I caught the brand-new national touring revival of Meredith Willson’s classic @musicmantour last night in Akron at E.J. Thomas Hall for the @broadwayakron series and I’m still smiling! This crowd-pleasing, six-time Tony-winning musical follows slick charmer Harold Hill, a fast-talking salesman who rolls into town planning to swindle the locals with promises of a boys’ band he can’t actually deliver. But his perfectly polished con hits a snag when he meets Marian Paroo, the sharp-witted librarian whose sincerity and heart just might turn this lovable rogue into someone real. The whole cast brought it last night from the high energy dance numbers to the tender ballads. The stars @elizabethdaiuto and @craigfirst were phenomenal delivering powerhouse vocals magnetic chemistry and performances that lit up the stage from start to finish. The energy, the costumes, the choreography, the music - pure Broadway magic on tour! If you love big classic musical numbers, charming comedy, and feel-good storytelling, don’t miss it. 🎟 One more performance TONIGHT (Feb 19)! Great for the whole family! #BroadwayAkron #musicmantour #akronohio

Last night at @playhousequare, I experienced somet Last night at @playhousequare, I experienced something unforgettable. ✨ Seeing @suffsmusical live was deeply moving, soul-stirring, and powerful in a way that stays with you long after the curtain falls. I cried several times. Not quiet tears, but the kind that come from feeling seen, shaken, and inspired all at once. This Tony-winning musical tells the true story of the women’s suffrage movement in the United States, over a century old, yet aching with relevance today. It captures the courage, the conflict, and the cost of fighting for a voice. These women marched on Washington, protested outside the White House, endured hunger strikes, and risked everything for a future they might never personally benefit from. And watching it unfold through a brilliant, all-female cast makes the story hit even harder - raw, urgent, and electric. What struck me most is how alive this story feels. This isn’t history trapped in the past—it’s a reminder that progress is loud, uncomfortable, and often born from persistence when hope feels thin. Suffs doesn’t whisper its message; it sings it boldly: change only happens because people refuse to give up. It left me inspired, emotional, and reminded that voices, especially women’s voices, have always mattered, even when the world tried to silence them. This is a must-see! Suffs is at Connor Palace through Sunday, February 22nd, and tickets are still available. Trust me, go see it. Bring tissues. Bring friends. Leave changed. ❤️ #hosted #BroadwayCleveland #SUFFStheMusical #SUFFSTour
