Once again, the Target toy clearance is upon us!

I’ve been stalking my area Target store so when I went this morning I was so excited to see that the Target toy clearance had begun!  As I announced this morning on my Facebook page,  select toys at my local Target store had hit 70% off and most likely nationwide.  If you are new to the Target toy clearance, read on!

Target’s twice annual toy clearance markdown is notorious among saving mavens and it’s definitely the time of the year to stock-up.  While Target offers amazing clearance deals year round, this particular event is one of the most popular. Each January and July, Target’s hosts an unadvertised toy clearance and marks select toys up to 70 percent off.

Target Toy Clearance tips:

• The variety and number of toys that are marked down at each store can vary, so it may be beneficial to visit a few stores.
• Look for toys in the clearance aisle but also look in each toy aisle as some toys may not have been moved to a central location.
• Look at the red sticker closely.  It will tell you what the percent off is in the top right corner (30, 50 0r 70)
• Stock-up not only for Christmas and birthday’s but also any birthday parties your child may be attending.  I like to call this my gift closet.
• Create and stick to your budget.  There will be another toy markdown in July, so no need to go CRAZY!

As you can see from the picture above, my youngest was so excited to get this Percy Pillow Pet for his 3rd birthday.  I had purchased it a few months before during the January Target toy clearance and it still has that tell-tale red sticker on it…of course, I don’t think he minded at all.
