Target’s toy clearance is underway at many stores!  Every January and July, Target marks down many toys which means HUGE savings for us!  Now is the time to stock your gift closets.

Some readers have found toys marked up to 70% but most stores will still be around 30 – 50% off.  Be sure to look down different aisles and on a couple end caps as some toys may be scattered about.  The next toy markdown won’t be until January so you’ll want to grab what you need now.

New to Target’s Toy Clearance? What you are looking for are YELLOW (not red like above) clearance stickers. These should be in the top right corner of the products on clearance. You’ll see what the price was and what the price is currently. In the VERY top right corner, you’ll see the percentage off. This will be 15%, 30%, 50% or 70%.  Keep in mind that while the sticker has a certain percentage off, you’ll want to scan it, as some items may ring up LESS than they are priced!

Pro Tips for Target Toy Clearance:

• Shop early and often: Keep an eye on the toys that are on markdown. If there are several of the same toys available but they aren’t marked low enough, it may be best wait to buy. You may be able to get an even lower price. If you decide to wait it out, you may want to stop in the store as often as possible to keep an eye on your favorite toys.
• Stock up: If you have little ones at home, make a list of toys available. Keep in mind these toys would be great for upcoming birthday parties and Christmas. I also buy some to put away in my gift closet for my friends kids!
• Check the end caps: You can find some fabulous deals on the end caps. Some will say “Save 30% or MORE” so keep an eye on those red clearance stickers as some could be a savings of much more than 30%.
• Look for Tags: End caps aren’t the only place you’ll find deals. Look up and down the aisles and look for the red clearance stickers right on the shelf. This will direct you to the toy on the shelf that has the red sticker on it.
• Look for HIDDEN items: Be sure to check the shelves and look behind regular priced items. I’m regularly able to find items that are marked down on clearance. Remember, you are trying to look for those red stickers.
• Look beyond the toy section: The Target toy clearance sale usually expands beyond the toy area. Look in the summer section, pool area and even camping aisles, where some stores have set up whole sections just for toy clearance.
