Hey locals, on top of the deal I posted for Hillcrest Orchard earlier today, here’s another FUN activity for you and your family!  Red Wagon Farm Pumpkin Festival is an annual event held every Saturday and Sunday starting 9/27/14 and ending 10/26/14. This FUN festival boasts:

– Kids Hay Maze & play area (ages 12 & under)
– 5 acre Corn Maze challenge
– Wagon rides through our Scarecrow village
– Pumpkins – a wide variety in all shapes and sizes. All You Can Carry for ONLY $10.00 (see attendant for rules) OR Pumpkins priced by the pound (.35 cents per lb)
– Food tent with hot dogs, fresh Italian sausage sandwiches, Roasted corn, fresh potato chips, caramel apples, popcorn & more!!!
– Fresh, locally grown produce available at the Farmer’s Market
– Many photo opportunites

While the festival is FREE to attend you do have to pay for some of the activities.  Currently Groupon is offering a family four pack of tickets for only $11.  This includes 4 passes to the corn maze and 4 passes for a hay ride. While my family has not attended this festival I hear that it is one of the best in our area. I’m grabbing this deal and checking it out this year!




Yummy Mummy Hotdogs – Great Halloween Food for Kids!

My kiddos enjoy helping me cook and this is one of their favorites.  They love that they can do it all by them self and I love that there is very little cleanup.  While these little treats can be made anytime of year, they are super fun during Halloween!

Yummy Mummy Dogs

What you’ll need:
1 can of crescent rolls (here’s a coupon)
1 package hot dogs
mustard
nonstick cooking spray
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F

1. Separate crescent roll dough at perforations and cut into thin strips of dough.
2. Wrap strips of dough around each hot dog to resemble a mummy.  I also made sure each one had a “hat”.
3. Place wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet and spray dough lightly with cooking spray.
4. Bake for 13 – 17 minutes, or until dough is light golden brown.
5. Use mustard to dot eyes onto mummy faces (I used a toothpick to make them really small)
