Walking With Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular Cleveland, Ohio

Last night my boys and I went to the opening night of Walking With Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular at Quicken Loans Arena. As we walked into the arena my boys oohed and aahed at the set that was complete with a large set of dinosaur teeth draping the sides and fog to make it a bit more mysterious.  At first I thought my boys would be a little scared walking into the dimly lit arena but none of them were.  Even my four year old excitedly took his seat, growled like a dinosaur and exclaimed, “I’m a T-Rex, mommy!”.

As the first dinosaur came out the crowd erupted in applause as we were simply amazed by what we were seeing.  The dinosaurs walked around in true life-like form and it felt as though we were transported back in time.  Painstaking details have been added to these beasts which include feathers, head crests and tail fans.  No matter where you are sitting in the arena you can see even the smallest details on these magnificent creatures.

The show, which lasts about 2 hours in total brings out 10 different species to delight the audience.  These include the Plateosaurus and Liliensternus from the Triassic period, the Stegosaurus and Allosaurus from the Jurassic period and Torosaurus and Utahraptor from the Cretaceous period.  The largest of them, the Brachiosaurus is 36 feet tall, and 56 feet from nose to tail. Of course you can’t forget the crowd favorite the Tyrannosaurus Rex, which was the star of the show!

Walking with Dinsosaurs the Arena Spectacular, is perfect for families and adults alike!  There are times that you will cheer as a dinosaur nearly escapes from being someone’s dinner and laugh at some of the more lighthearted parts.  We really loved the scene with the Mommy T-Rex and her baby towards the end of the show.  It was fun to see the interaction of these two when you usually don’t think of T-Rex’s as loving.
