A couple of weeks ago, I attended the grand opening of the new Savers store in Fairview Park, Ohio. Before I arrived, I thought it would be just like many other thrift stores but man, was I wrong!
My mom and I spent almost two hours in the store and only left because they were closing. I really wished I would have had more time but that just means that I’ll definitely go back. Have you visited the new Savers yet? If you haven’t, here are 5 things that I LOVE about the new Savers store in Fairvew Park.
Savers Store is Clean: I’m an avid thrift store shopper but there are some stores that make me feel like I need a shower after shopping. The new Savers store is NOT one of these stores. When I first arrived at Savers, I was pleasantly surprised how immaculate the store was. The toys were clearly cleaned before being put on the shelf, the clothes put out were only the best and even many of the shoes looked new. This made my shopping experience much more enjoyable!
Savers Store is Organized: Savers knows how to set up a store to make it super easy to find things. The first thing I noticed was their unique way they hang their pants. Instead of hanging them from their waist band, they hang them from the hip. Hanging them this way make it much easier to find the size that you need. Savers in Fairview Park also organizes their shoes and purses by hanging some from clips. Doing this definitely helps in being able to see the color, size and condition.
When I browsed the book section, I was overjoyed to not only see that they organized them by category such as religion and parenting but when I looked in the children’s section, they had even organized them by chapter books! I found a TON of books for my boys and best of all they were easy to find.
For items that have smaller parts such as in the toy or electronic section, Savers uses see through baggies. This made it easy to see what was inside and the condition of the item while still keeping all the pieces together.
Savers Store Employees are Helpful: At Savers in Faiview Park, employees are easy to spot. With their matching shirts and colorful lanyards, they are eager to assist you anyway. While shopping, I had many employees come up and ask if I was looking for any specific or needed any help. It is possible that the eager employees were going the extra mile for their grand opening but, I personally think they are just very well trained.
One specific employee that was working in the book department, went over and above and spent time looking through the children’s book section to help to find some books for my oldest son. She not only located the books that I was looking for but also suggested a few. My son loved all the books that I brought home and I LOVED the price!
Savers Store Gives Back: Savers purchases items for their store through a collaboration with local nonprofit organizations. Doing this allows customers to get quality used goods at a great value while still helping the community. Last year, Savers paid thier nonprofit partners and their programs more than $180 million to fund their programs and services. To date, they’ve paid more than $1.5 billion over the last 10 years.
Savers Store is a Great Value: When I was invited to the grand opening of Savers in Fairview Park, I was given a $50 gift certificate to see how far I could stretch it. I was very pleased with the prices in the store and happy with all I got. I was able grab a few summer shorts for my boys priced at $3.99 each, a large household plant for $5.99, a Farberware pan with lid for $4.99, five chapter books for my oldest son, a purse, two Wii games (one of which hadn’t been open) along with a few other items.
Overall, I thought the prices at Savers in Fairview Park were very fair. While most of the items were used, I was able to find some that still had tags on them, which made them an even better value for the money.
Savers in Fairview Park is a store that I will definitely visit again, and I strongly suggest you give it a try!
