Have you heard? The inspirational military dog movie, Max, is coming out this weekend.
My family and I have seen the trailer on TV for weeks and each and every time my boys have asked if we could see it. Of course we planned to go opening weekend but when we were invited to see an advance screening this week, we jumped at the chance!
Max
Rated: PG for action violence and peril
Cast: Thomas Haden Church, Josh Wiggins, Luke Kleintank
Release date: June 26th
After losing their eldest son in the war, the Wincott family decides to take in the shell-shocked soldier dog who can no longer serve. They give the responsibility of caring for the dog to their younger and slightly troubled teen son, Justin.
Despite hating the responsibility at first, Justin quickly bonds with Max. In fact he bonds so much with him that when Max shows aggression to Luke, a soldier buddy of Justin’s dead brother, he decides to investigate.
The movie then takes us on an exciting adventure of Max, Justin and his friends trying to solve the mystery. It’s full of action that had my kids actually clapping in parts.
The movie has some Lassie-like moments but that’s to be expected in an hero like, Max. For those of you with kiddos the movie is rated PG for some explosions, deaths, and light profanity (and I mean REALLY light).
I found it so refreshing to be able to see a movie like Max that we could all enjoy. My family gives it two huge thumbs up!
