Busy! Busy! Summer is here but with it brings a busy time for our family. My kiddos are having fun with summer activities, I’m filling in in our children’s department at church, my husband is finishing his last few weeks in college and all of our boys just started soccer. Even with our busy schedules, most nights I still like to make dinner for my family. Not only does is save us money from stopping through the drive-thru but it also gives us a chance to catch up.
To make things easier on my schedule and budget, I make one stop at Giant Eagle. Have you heard? Participating Giant Eagle stores in the Akron/Canton and Cleveland areas have slashed prices on over 5,000 items. These price cuts are permanent and not a sale. Best of all you can find these slashed prices all over the store by simply looking for the tell-tale “Another Slashed Price” tags on the shelves.
Walk up and down the aisles of Giant Eagle and you’ll spot slashed prices in the Dairy, Grocery, Pet, Frozen, Household Items, and Snacks & Cereal departments. These tags are easy to spot and clearly tell you how much of a discount you’re are getting. What’s great is that you don’t have to wait for a sale or use a coupon to snag these savings.
To save both time and money, I choose easy things to make for dinner on our busy nights. Anything that I can make ahead or add to my crockpot is a plus. Often times we’ll have just 30 minutes from the time we walk in the door until the time we walk out so quick and easy is a must. I like to use just a little time on my weekends or evenings to plan out our meals for the week. I find when I do this, it makes dinnertime a breeze.
If you are wanting to make an easy dinner throughout your busy weekdays too, you’ll find that a little prep time will do you wonders! For instance, my family loves fruit salad as a side dish so I try to serve it a few times a week. By cutting up my fruit at the beginning of the week and keeping it in the refrigerator, I can simply pull it out when wanted. Same goes for preparing my fresh meat. If I know that boneless, skinless chicken is on the menu, I’ll be sure to pull it out of the freezer and marinate it about a day or two before hand. Easy peasy!
Just this past weekend, I stopped at my local Giant Eagle store and grabbed some frozen meatballs, mozzarella cheese, pasta sauce, buns, and a few other items on my list. I knew these things would make my family at least two dinners. Best of all, almost all of the items I purchased were part of Giant Eagle’s slashed prices! Here are just a few things that I bought:
- Rosina Meatballs –
$7.99~ now $6.49 - BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella Cheese –
$5.99~ now $3.99 - Giant Eagle Pasta Sauce –
$1.59~ now $1.49 - Giant Eagle Chips –
$3.29~ now $1.99
Since I had a busy day planned, I simply popped the frozen meatballs and pasta sauce in my crockpot. Just a few hours later, dinner was done. Add some fruit salad and chips on the side, and my family had a quick, easy and delicious meal. They loved how great it tasted and I loved how much money I saved.
Since we are always on the go, I like to keep easy to grab snacks. One of our favorites are cheese sticks. These are portable and a healthy choice for my whole family. Even I love them! It was really excited to see that the prices on these too had been slashed. You can grab a 12 pack of Giant Eagle String Cheese for only $2.59 (reg. $3.49) or a 24 pack for only $4.99 (reg. $6.99). How awesome is that?
If it’s been a while since you’ve stopped in at Giant Eagle, now it the time! With over 5,000 slashed prices, you’ll be amazed how much you’ll save!
