I ended up having a kidney stone and told I was in my third trimester. I was given a due date of Christmas day with less then two months to plan for a baby. I ended up having my daughter on 12/12 but it was the best Christmas ever!

I grew up in southern ohio, and my parents would take us to a place/store (I have no idea what it was called) that was all decorated for Christmas! We would get to sit on Santa’s lap to tell him what was on our wish list… Then, we were given a “special” key that opened a door to a room where we got to pick out a small gift from Santa! I only have vague memories of this because I was so little, but it still makes smile when I think of it!!!! Would love to find something like this for my kids to do!

I have to say my fonded memory is shopping with my Dad as a little girl for my Mom. One year he took me shopping to Hills and my mom loves to sew so I was looking for sewing basket for her. I had to find just the right one. My Dad having no patience except this time of year out and about with me before my sisters. It was an amazing time just to have my Dad to myself, picking out that special gift for my Mom. This is special because I lost my Dad 5 years ago and up until the day he died he was still picking out Mom special gifts. Since he passed away 3 days before their wedding anniversary. That Christmas was awesome when Mom opened the sewing basket it was like Dad and I had read Moms mind. Just one of my precious memories.. Thank you asking…..

Now we still go to Cleveland and I take my parents. Mr. Jing-a-Ling,

Wind up things that Santa brings
to all the little girls and boys.

Love baking Christmas goodies! This is a family favorite for us! Since I was a very little girl I remember baking cookies with my Grandma. She even had little metal baking sheets for the kids. We always got to roll the cookies into balls for her 🙂 and smash the peanut butter cookies with the forks 🙂 It was always so much fun for me even though, thinking back now, I am quite sure I got in the way 🙂

One of my favorite memories was when the elementary schools had a gift shop. Your parents would send in a checklist of who to buy for and cash. Then you got to do all your shopping with the help of a few parent volunteers. I was so proud of my purchases as a kid. My mom even has some of those “perfect” presents 🙂

Favorite Christmas memory……It is really hard to narrow it down to just one. Starting with my grandmothers cheaply make stained glass star that topped her Christmas tree, of course as an adult I bought my own. Ribbon candy, my favorite Aunt used to buy us a box of ribbon candy every Christmas and now I buy it for my kids and mom as a little way of having her with us since she passed two years ago. Or how my entire family would get together (90 people) crammed into a small 3 bedroom 1 bath house just like something off of an old tv show, after stuffing ourselves on all the finger foods that were brought we would wait for Santa to show up with gifts for all of the little kids. Yea my family is my favorite Christmas memory, without one of them I would have no memory’s to smile over now.
