I never planned on being a blogger.
When I sat in my first coupon class about 6 years ago my whole life changed. I was blown away by the things the speaker was saying and was amazed by the amount of money that she saved at the grocery store. By the end of the class, my head was swirling and I couldn’t wait to get started.
As with any exciting new skill, I jumped in feet first. I’d rush out week to week and snag the best deals and was excited to see my “stockpile” (I never let it get too big) grow. As I started to hone my couponing skills and see my savings start to add up, I was excited to share information with my friends. Since it was easier for me to share on a Facebook page than my wall I created, Couponing with Rachel.
Soon my Couponing with Rachel Facebook page grew and included many more people than just my family and close friends. Within 6 months, my little page grew into a website which allowed me to share more information and helped others find pasts posts. During this time I also started to write a weekly column in two local papers, make regular appearances on the TV show New Day Cleveland, and was given many other opportunities.
While I’m certainly blessed by everything that has come my way and I truly love it, I never planned on being a blogger. Because of this I’ve had no website training and really don’t know what I’m doing most of the time (I’m just being honest 🙂 ) Well this weekend some things are going to change.

I’m so excited to attend Bloggy Conference 2013 this weekend at one of my favorite places, Cedar Point! I hope to not only learn many new skills but I also hope to network with a few brands, and meet new friends. This weekend is not just for me, but for you too as I plan on coming back refreshed and with many new ideas for my blog. While my blog will be quieter the next few days, please know that I’ll be back in full force on Monday, 9/16.
Follow me on Twitter this weekend at @CouponingRachel.
Wish me luck!
