After getting home from the Ringling Bros. circus last night I saw that my email was flooded with mail from readers whose Brawny coupons were rejected at a local Giant Eagle store. All of the emails seemed to name the same store and since all emails came today, I’m guessing this is a new decision.
The coupon that is in question is both the one pictured above as well as other denominations such as $2/2 and $1/2. Good thing for us couponers is that we have Brawny on our side. Ya know the one who created the coupon? 🙂 If you hop over to Brawny’s Facebook page you’ll see that this particular coupon has been discussed MANY times (look under “recent posts by others”). Each time they answer the same way.
“Yes, the coupon CAN BE USED to purchase single roll packs of Brawny.”
What to do if your coupon is refused:
So what’s a couponer to do if your coupon is refused? First of all, remember to be kind, even if the cashiers aren’t. Not only will you probably get further but you also won’t be deemed as a crazy couponer.
If you feel that the rejection isn’t warranted, it doesn’t hurt to kindly ask questions on why the coupon is not being honored. It may just be a lack of communication that can be easily worked out. If you still don’t feel like you are getting the correct answer you can always ask to speak to the manager. I will usually get out of line for though so I’m not holding it up.
Only a handful of times have I taken the final step and made a call to the corporate store for a coupon not being honored. Do know that this is an acceptable step after all other attempts have been made.
As frustrating as a missed saving opportunity can be, remember it’s just a deal and after all and there will be many more.
